CLASSIC PROGRAM
Tryouts and evaluations for Classic Teams (birth years 2013-2005) for the 2023/2024 season will be held in May, with specific dates varying by birth year. If your player misses the May evaluation window, individual evaluations can be scheduled throughout the summer and, in most cases, throughout the fall/spring season. Register for Classic player evaluations here.
Sporting Arkansas has made a commitment to raise the standard of soccer in NW Arkansas. In keeping with that goal, we feel that all players with the appropriate skill and dedication to play should have the opportunity to play, regardless of financial means. As a club, we do everything we can to assist and are thankful to the many donors who make that a possibility.
Financial assistance, in the form of player scholarships, are available to assist those players who are not able to afford the total costs associated with playing soccer and funds available to help families who need financial assistance.
Please visit the Financial Assistance page of our website for more information.
All players will need to give copies of their birth certificates, insurance cards, and a medical release form (please see link) to their team managers or coaches at their first practice.
The Classic program, available to players in age groups U11-U19, is for players who desire to compete at a higher level than recreational soccer. The program focuses on long-term development of players and creating opportunities for players to play at the college and/or professional level. This program is designed for players that are ready to put in the time and effort to their development as a player. Classic teams are led by experienced coaches who work with the Director of Coaching.
Training at the Classic level includes content developed and delivered by experienced, professional coaches. We offer year-round programming which gives players the opportunity to develop at the pace and level that interests them.
We have experienced current and former college coaches on our coaching staff who can provide college recruiting guidance.
Training sessions are 2-3 times per week at the Sugar Creek complex.
Classic players can expect weekend games during the season and typically two or three tournaments in each the fall and spring season.
The Classic program conducts tryouts for new players. All players are invited to tryout to become a member of Sporting Arkansas Soccer Club. Tryouts for the upcoming season typically occur in May.
If a player misses tryouts, there is still a chance to try out based on membership numbers and other factors. Please email registrar@sportingarkansas.com if you are interested in trying out but have missed the tryout period.
Player participation is an annual commitment. Registration fees cover the cost of training, facility maintenance and repair, facility utilities, administrative duties, and more. You can learn more about registration fees on our Parent Corner. Additional fees will exist for uniform and training gear, tournament fees, and any required travel.
