Parent Code of Conduct

At Sporting Arkansas, we believe that a positive, respectful environment is essential for player development and team success. As a parent or guardian, you play a crucial role in supporting your child’s journey and shaping the overall experience for all players, coaches, referees and families. As a member of our club, you agree to uphold the following standards:

  • Support the Team – Respect the Game
  • Encourage your child and their teammates through positive reinforcement — before, during and after games.
  • Demonstrate respect toward all players, coaches, referees, opponents and spectators at all times.
  • Never engage in criticism of officials, opposing players or coaches from the sidelines.

  • Let Coaches Coach – Let Players Play
  • Allow coaches to direct the game, practices and tactical decisions without interference.
  • Avoid coaching your child or others from the sideline during matches or training sessions.
  • Trust the developmental process — even when it involves challenges, changes or growing pains.

  • Honor the Commitment
  • Ensure your player attends all scheduled practices, games and team events or communicates absences in advance.
  • Support your team with punctuality, preparedness and a team-first mindset.
  • Promote responsibility and ownership in your child’s athletic journey.

  • Foster a Growth Mindset
  • Emphasize effort, improvement and character over winning at all costs.
  • Help your child navigate setbacks with perspective, encouraging resilience and accountability.
  • Celebrate progress — not just performance.

  • Be an Active and Positive Club Member
  • Support fundraising, volunteerism and community initiatives that strengthen the club.
  • Address concerns constructively and through proper channels — beginning with your team coach or manager.
  • Model the club’s values of integrity, sportsmanship and respect in all interactions.

By adhering to this Parent Code of Conduct, you help create a safe, supportive and enriching environment where players can thrive — not just as athletes, but as people.
